Schneps Media welcomes readers to begin sharing their comments directly on stories published onLong Island Pressusing a new feature that was added to the website on April 22.
The goal is to bring the conversation home, help foster aneighborly environment between readers, and offer a new line to the newsroom. The website includes stories from the monthlyLong Island Pressand the 10 weekly Schneps Media LI newspapers that cover Nassau County.
We want to give Long Islanders a dedicated space to discuss local issues we cover right where the news is reported, rather than having those conversations fractured acrossFacebook,InstagramandX.
This added feature requires users to register and log in to comment so we can create a more civil, high-quality space for discussion, cutting out the anonymous spam and toxicity often found on social media.
The change also allows the editorial team to hear directly from the community about what they feel matters most in their specific neighborhoods.
Long Island Pressis where readers can find breaking news, events and stories the region’s premier news and lifestyle publication. It is also where readers can find local stories from theGlen Cove-Oyster Bay Record Pilot, Great Neck Record, Manhasset Press, Mineola-Williston Times, Nassau Illustrated News, Nassau Observer, New Hyde Park-Floral Park Herald Courier, Port Washington News, Roslyn News TimesandSyosset Jericho Tribune.
