A truly remarkable and heartwarming scene unfolded on Wednesday, April 22 in Chhindnar, a village in the Dantewada district, beautifully reflecting the shifting narrative of the Bastar region. Long known primarily for its turbulent history as a Naxal-affected zone, the area witnessed a completely different kind of history being made. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar stepped onto a local maidan , reaching out to the local tribal children and playing a spontaneous game of tug of war alongside them.
For these young minds, the experience was nothing short of a fairy tale coming to life. The sporting icon they had previously only idolized through television screens, read about in school books, or seen in the faded pages of newspapers was suddenly standing right in their midst.
Tendulkar’s presence ignited a palpable sense of excitement. The confidence radiating from the children was unmistakably visible, turning every single moment spent on the dusty field into a deeply memorable, once-in-a-lifetime event. Apart from Sachin, his daughter Sara was also present.
