One of Donald Trump's former allies has issued an alarming warning about the US President's health, calling his rhetoric on the war in Iran "insanity". Speaking on BBC Newsnight to Victoria Derbyshire,Marjorie Taylor Greene laid into Mr Trump'scampaign in the Middle East after campaigning strongly on the basis of no more wars and America first.
The former Republican member of Congress accused the president of having lost the support of many Americans, including her, over the war and accused him of"insanity" over his comments on Truth Social. She said: "The way that the president has acted and the words he's used and the change in policy that he's taken has been shocking to many Americans who supported him and voted for him.

“You now say that his mental capacity should be examined and he has gone insane, what exactly are you saying there?”@vicderbyshireasks Marjorie Taylor Greene about her criticism of President Trump and his rhetoric towards Iran.#Newsnightpic.twitter.com/U1SfMvKuu0
"His campaign promise of no more foreign wars, no more regime change - I campaigned with the president all over the country for years, spoke at many of his rallies, and we promised America that.
"Americans are sick and tired of funding the foreign wars. We're nearly $40 trillion in debt, but yet this is a war that President Trump himself took on with the Prime Minister ofIsrael, and it's one that many Americans do not support.
"But it was when the president called and said that he wouldwipe out an entire civilisation of people- we're talking about innocent men, women and children - that is insanity.
"Those are words that should be taken very seriously, and those were words that many Americans were outraged by."
Ms Taylor Greene was then asked how badly wrong she thinks she was in supporting Mr Trump, to which she pointed out a "drastic change" in his policies during his second term, particularly with the Epstein files.
