A lot of investors are hoping for Shiba Inu to reach the $0.01 and $1 milestone. But it’s well known that SHIB has an abundance of tokens in circulation which is stunting its growth in the charts. For those who still believe that Shiba Inu can reach $1, it’s time to rethink the strategy from a financial angle. The hype and buzz of the token had clouded critical thinking, making traders believe that $1 is inevitable. In reality, it is not.
Currently, there are 589.5 trillion SHIB tokens in circulation with no chance of being sent to the dead wallet. The burns are meager in number, with just above 1 billion tokens burned on Shibarium worth just around $15,000. That number is less than six months’ salary of a low-level minimum wage worker anywhere in the US. The only benefit that Shiba Inu had was that of the ‘too many numbers’ in the front vs. the circulating supply, which mostly confused a lot of traders.

The US GDP currently stands at $32.38 trillion in April 2026. For Shiba Inu to reach $1, its market cap must hit $589.5 trillion. That means SHIB must grow 19 times bigger than the US economy’s GDP itself to reach $1. That’s a gigantic figure which even the world’s richest superpower, the US, has not reached. Even the US might not hit that number in our lifetime, our children’s lifetime, and our grandchildren’s lifetime.
The majority of investors who took an entry position in Shiba Inu believed it could hit $0.01 and $1. We cannot blame them for that belief because SHIB surged more than 85,000,000% (85 million percent) between 2020 and 2021. It is only obvious to think that the money-making mill will keep running and churning profits.
Shiba Inu boasts over 1.5 million investors, but the number of new and first-time traders entering has stalled. It reached the 1.5 million holders milestone in February 2025 and has only meagerly scaled up since then. The dog-themed token reaching $1 is nothing but a myth, as the numbers required to reach there are indeed saddening.
