The annual World IT Show 2026 kicked off Wednesday in Seoul, bringing together the latest innovations and future visions in information and communications technology (ICT) from key industry players, the science ministry said.

The event is one of the country's largest ICT trade exhibitions, providing a platform to share the latest industry trends and future insights. A total of 460 companies and organizations from 17 countries took part, according to the Ministry of Science and ICT.

This year's show is themed "Beyond Idea, Into Action: AI moves Reality," with major tech and mobile companies, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, SK Telecom, KT, and Kakao participating.

On the opening day, Gaudio Lab received the top presidential award for its artificial intelligence (AI)-based platform that automatically separates and replaces audio, enables re-recording and generates subtitles. Law & Company was awarded the second prize for its AI-powered legal service application.

At a global ICT marketplace aimed at helping local startups expand globally, 50 overseas buyers held business meetings with 190 Korean companies.

"The World IT Show is an important venue where visitors can experience the convergence of physical AI and cutting-edge technologies," said Second Vice Minister Ryu Je-myung. "I hope this will be a meaningful occasion for our AI and ICT companies to share the achievements of innovative technologies and create opportunities for new collaboration and growth."
