In a strict move to preserve the sanctity ofKedarnath Temple, authorities have imposed a complete ban on mobile phone usage within the temple premises. Devotees are now prohibited from carrying phones inside, clicking photos, recording videos or making reels.

Temple Committee Member Vineet Posti said the decision was taken to maintain the spiritual atmosphere and ensure smooth darshan for pilgrims. He warned that any violation will invite legal action, signalling a zero-tolerance approach as footfall rises during the pilgrimage season.

The temple committee has urged devotees to adhere to the guidelines and maintain religious decorum to ensure a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling darshan experience.

In Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district, a comprehensive traffic management plan has been put in place ahead of the Kedarnath Yatra to handle the expected surge in pilgrims. Officials said arrangements are being strengthened across national highways and connecting roads to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the pilgrimage season.

Adequate police deployment has been planned at key locations to manage congestion and maintain disciplined traffic flow. The administration has also set up permanent and temporary parking facilities to ease vehicular pressure and prevent bottlenecks along the route. Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar said a detailed strategy has been prepared in coordination with neighbouring districts.

“A detailed traffic plan has been formulated for the yatra in the district. Coordination has been established with nearby districts. The traffic system has been divided into 2 super zones and 11 sectors. Additionally, 13 mobile force teams have been constituted. A diversion plan will also be implemented in case of increased traffic pressure,” she said.

Officials noted that dividing the region into super zones and sectors will allow better monitoring and faster response to traffic issues. Mobile teams have also been deployed for real-time management to ensure quick intervention, particularly during peak hours. The measures are part of broader efforts to ensure a safe, smooth and well-organised Kedarnath Yatra for devotees.
