SUNY Old Westbury hosted the 2026Own Your Future Gala on Thursday, April 16, honoring six decades ofacademic excellence and institutional impact while rallying the community to invest in the next generation of trailblazers.
The gala at the Heritage Club at Bethpage marked the final celebration of what has been a year-long observance of the campus’s 60th anniversary. School officials said the gala was geared to honor six decades of academic excellence, access and institutional impact while galvanizing support for SUNY Old Westbury’s mission to empower the next generation of leaders.
Victoria Schneps, the president and co-publisher of Schneps Media, Patricia Hill Williams, thepresident of the Association of Council Members and College Trustees of the State University of New York, and Janett and Steven Connolly, the owners of Co-Source Solutions, were all honored at the event.
The gala also raised money, with the proceeds going towardsinitiatives that expand access, enrich academic programs, and ensure the university’s students have the resources they need to succeed, lead, and truly “own their futures,” school officials said. The school did not immediately reply as to how much money was raised from the event.
