In a strong message, the Indian Army on Tuesday, April 21, underscored its zero-tolerance stance against terrorism, declaring that "some boundaries should never be crossed." "India does not forget," the Indian Army declared. The message comes a day before the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were shot dead by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists on April 22 last year, following which India launchedOperation Sindoor.

"When boundaries of humanity are crossed, the response is decisive. Justice is served. India stands united," the Indian Army said in its post. The message was accompanied by hashtags such as #SindoorAnniversary, #JusticeEndures and #NationFirst.

On April 22, 2025, a dastardly terrorist attack ripped through the quaint Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, killing 25 tourists and a local pony-ride operator. The brutal attack carried out by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 last year, targeting terror infrastructure at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. Pakistan responded to the Indian attack on terror infrastructure with a swarm of drones and missiles, all tracked and destroyed by the Indian forces.

India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10, following a request from Islamabad, to end the conflict after four days of conflict.

Recently, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, revealed that the Indian Navy was just minutes away from striking Pakistan from the sea during Operation Sindoor. "Operation Sindoor demonstrated exemplary readiness and resolve of the Indian Navy, as our units undertook swift deployment and maintained a highly aggressive posture throughout the period. It is not a hidden fact anymore that we were just minutes away from striking Pakistan from sea, when they requested the stoppage of kinetic actions," the Navy chief said at the Naval Investiture Ceremony, as quoted by ANI.

Earlier, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi had revealed that the Indian security forces were "fully prepared" for ground operations during the May conflict. "In those 88 hours, you saw that the army's mobilisation to expand the conventional space was such that if Pakistan made any mistake, we were fully prepared to launch ground operations..." Gen Dwivedi said in January this year.

Tourists have returned to the Valley and the famed meadows of Pahalgam are once again buzzing with tourist activity. Security has been beefed up at tourist spots across Kashmir, reported PTI. All security agencies have been asked to remain alert for any possible subversive activities on the eve of the Pahalgam terror attack anniversary, especially around tourist spots, officials said.

Several new measures have been introduced in Pahalgam resort to ensure tourist safety. These include antecedent verification of service providers and vendors, including ponywallahs, before they interact with the visitors.

A unique QR code-based identification system has been introduced for all tourism service providers for the safety of tourists in Pahalgam.
