Delhi Weather Today:Delhi is witnessing a sharp rise in temperatures as the summer heat intensifies across the region. The India Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for Delhi-NCR starting April 21, with conditions expected to remain severe until April 24. Clear skies and strong sunlight are making daytime conditions uncomfortable, while the mercury continues to climb above seasonal norms.
The maximum temperature is likely to stay between 41°C and 43°C, while the minimum temperature may range between 21°C and 23°C. In the last 24 hours, Safdarjung recorded 39.5°C, which is 2.7°C above normal, while the Ridge area touched 41.3°C.
“The weather department has issued a yellow alert for several regions of Delhi-NCR due to heatwave conditions,” the update said.
People have been advised to take precautions as exposure to high temperatures may lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, and other health issues. The advisory suggests avoiding outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, drinking plenty of water, and wearing light cotton clothing.
“Heatwave conditions are expected to continue across most districts of Delhi including North-West, South-West, East and Shahdara,” officials said.
Until then, residents of Delhi-NCR will continue to face intense summer conditions, with rising demand for water, cooling systems, and medical attention for heat-related issues. The weather department has urged citizens to remain cautious and stay updated with daily forecasts.
