A top Spanish bullfighter has suffered a unfortunate injury that is reportedly "very serious" after a bull's horn reportedly perforated his rectum following a 10cm gore.
Jose Antonio Morante Camacho, better known for his ring name as Morante de la Puebla, was competing with the fourth bull of the afternoon, named 'Clandestino', at La Maestranza bullring in Seville today (April 20).
Morante, dubbed by many publications as 'king of the bullfighters' was competing during the tenth event of the popular April Fair when he was seen being gored by the bull.
He was reportedly trying to control the bull when it charged at his chest and knocking him down. However, as he tried to evade the bull, it appears one of its horns caught him in the buttock region.

Video footage of the incident show the bull horn connect with his buttock but the extent of the injury was not visible other than a tear in his pants.
He was seen in some distress on the floor and was clutching the area of the injury before fellow bullfighters carried him out of the ring.
The top bullfighter had already been injured during the event with a bull cutting his ear in a minor injury.
Morante was rushed to hospital and a medical report has revealed the extent of his injures following a two hour surgery.
