Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Manorville Wednesday afternoon, police said in a press release early this morning.
Seventh Precinct patrol units were searching the area when they discovered the body of an adult female in the woods on Connecticut Avenue, south of River Road, at about 3:21 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, according to the release. The area is directly south of the Calverton Enterprise Park
The woman’s identity and cause of death will be determined following an autopsy by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.
Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the cause of death to be criminal in nature, police said.
