Powerhouse attorney Lisa Bloom has claimed she has moreevidence tied to a rape allegationagainst Eric Swalwell—and said more alleged victims have come forward to her.
Bloom, who represents Lonna Drewes, spoke toAshley Zavalaon California Politics 360 where she discussed her client’s allegation that Swalwell drugged and raped her in 2018.
Last week, Drewes stepped forward with her accusations against Swalwell during anemotional press conference.
“I’m very proud to represent the brave Lonna Drewes,” Bloom said. Bloom said Drewes’ case has since been escalated to the special victims unit and the district attorney’s office.
She emphasized that Los Angeles County law enforcement is treating the matter very seriously—and reiterated her confidence in the case, saying, “There’s no question in my mind.”
Bloom also disclosed that Drewes is preparing to present asignificant trove of evidencethat has been stored away.
“She has some additional evidence she needs to get out of a storage unit, there’s some additional witness names, people she talked to after the incident,” Bloom said. “We are fully cooperating with the sheriff’s investigation.”
Bloom has spoken with four more women who may soon come forward with their own sexual harassment allegations.
“I expect that number will continue to rise,” she added. She stressed that confidential conversations are the crucial first step in building the case.
When asked whether the women or potential witnesses would come forward and speak publicly, she said: “That’s not something we would ever push somebody to do.”
