For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

In Paul’s first letter to his young disciple, Timothy, which is recorded in the New Testament portion of the Bible, he writes:

Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the assembly of the living God,the pillar and foundation of the truth. (1 Timothy 3:14-15)

So what is the “pillar and foundation of the truth” that he writes about here?

Well first of all, I can conclusively say that what he is NOT referring to here is “the Church,” which is what almost all Christians are taught in regards to this verse.

The verse actually defines what the “pillar and foundation of the truth” is, which is “God’s household.”

Fortunately, we have many other teachings in the New Testament that define what “God’s household” is, and it is NOT “the Church”, as most Western Christians are taught to falsely believe today.

I have dealt with the incorrect English translation of the Greek word ἐκκλησία (ekklēsia) that James Charles Stuart, the King of England in 1611, “authorized” in his government-approved English translation of the Greek Bible. See:
