Apple has begun rolling out iOS 26.3 to iPhone users, bringing a range of updates that focus on user convenience and privacy rather than a major redesign. Previously, moving photos, messages, contacts and apps required multiple steps, including disabling FaceTime and Messages and connecting both devices via cable. The new option, found in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone, under Transfer to Android, allows users to move data wirelessly without third-party software.
Users can transfer a wide range of information, including photos, text messages, contacts and certain app data, simply by placing their iPhone near the Android device and following on-screen instructions. Analysts note that while the feature does not force users to switch platforms, it reduces barriers for those considering a move to Android.
The addition could also indicate Apple's acknowledgment of increasing interest in alternative operating systems.
iOS 26.3 also introducesnew privacy optionsthat give users greater control over their location data. The Limit Precise Location setting allows carriers to access only broad location information, such as the neighbourhood rather than the exact street address.
Emergency services, including 999 in the UK, still receive accurate location data when needed. Currently, this feature is available on iPhone Air and iPhone 16e models and is supported by Boost Mobile in the United States.

iOS 26.3 refreshes the iPhone wallpaper gallery, splitting sections like Weather and Astronomy into dedicated rows.
