NewDelhi:A video showing stray dog roaming freely and peeing inside Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital inDelhi’s Shahdara area has gone viral on social media, triggering public outrage over hygiene conditions and alleged negligence at the government-run hospital.

The X user named as Dr. Ranjan reposted the video by an X account named, Frasat Vajih. The video shows a stray dog moving across the hospital premises, including inside buildings and peeing where patients and their attendants are seen sitting and lying on the floor. In video, dog can be seen walking close to patients without any restriction.

Sharing the video, the user wrote, “The Condition of Delhi's Govt's GTB Hospital under BJP.”

The clip quickly gained traction, drawing sharp reactions from social media users, many of whom raised concerns about patient safety, cleanliness and the overall condition of government hospitals.

Reacting to the video, one user wrote,“Bechare marij aur unke gharwale kaise jameen pr janvaro ki tarah dale hai. SC sarkari hospitals me logo ke saath ho rahe is vyavhaar ka sangyan le, suo moto use kare. Kutto ka gana to sab ga rahe hai, insaano ki durdasha pr bhi bolo.”

Another user questioned the larger issue and wrote, “The bigger question is why are the people made to sit on the floors? And why no barricading or doors that only humans can enter from? Dogs don’t enter private hospitals. Andbhakts will blame everything on the dogs n get them crucified instead of solving the real problem.”

A third user expanded the criticism beyond Delhi and worte, “Not only delhi's hospital but almost every gov hospital in our country India. Why gov of india fails to provide/give basic facilities like clean water food air and proper health and education system?”

According to a report by NDTV, the video also shows three dogs standing next to a food trolley while two hospital employees stand nearby without making any effort to drive them away.

Responding to the criticism, Dr Vinod Kumar, Medical Director of GTB Hospital, said that the hospital administration has repeatedly written to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), requesting the removal of stray dogs from the premises.

Addressing concerns that some staff members had reportedly dismissed the issue by saying the dogs were like pets and would not harm anyone, Kumar said,
