A deadly explosion at a firecracker factory in Kattanapatti village in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu killed several people on Sunday. The explosion took place at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Kattanapatti village in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu. The district is known as one of India's largest firecracker manufacturing hubs.
Chief Minister Stalin expressed his condolences in an X post. He informed that he had contacted the District Collector officials and instructed them to coordinate all necessary relief and rescue work.
He further wrote, " My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I have requested the esteemed Ministers K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu to rush to the scene immediately to expedite and monitor the rescue operations and to offer solace to the affected families. Upon learning of this, I have contacted the District Collector and instructed them to coordinate all necessary assistance."
