MACC chief Azam Baki has clarified that he had openly declared the shares and held on to them for less than a year
Azam told local media on Wednesday that the report was “misleading” and that he had instructed his lawyers to send a letter of demand to Bloomberg. He said he would seek damages as well as an injunction against repeated allegations if needed.
The shares had been properly declared to the Public Service Department in 2025 and disposed of within the same year, Azam said, adding that he had held no shares since July last year.
