RUSH EXCERPT:MATTHEWS: "I think that’s the president. The president is playing a game back and forth between the two of them. It’s like gene McCarthy and hubert humphrey back in 68. Lyndon Johnson loved to mix them up and get them fighting with each other. The two senators from Minnesota. But I got to tell you, it’s a game so far, I think. I think jd is a gamesman himself. I think he pretended to become a Trump guy, a trumpian from the beginning. After writing a book about how Trump was explainable by geography and appalachian everything and hicks, if you will. And I think all of a sudden he became a trumpian, and I think he’s still playing that game. I think he opposes this war. As I said a few moments ago, he does not support this war. It is not consistent with trumpian argument. The Trump campaign, a big part of it was opposition to all those enduring phony wars that never stopped. The ones that started in, in, in, in, like you said, Iran, Iraq and all the other countries. And before that. And people just said, enough of these wars, stop the wars. And I think he’s with that. He’s consistent. Jd Vance is consistently trumpian, whereas Trump himself, as you moment ago referenced, he listened to Netanyahu. Of course, Netanyahu wants a war with Iran. Of course he does. He has a regional threat, an existential threat from Iran. We don’t we are at a different country. We’re in a totally different hemisphere. We do not fight. We are not a neighbor of Iran. Israel is a neighbor of Iran. They have to face that existential threat and they’re doing it, but they’re using us. And I think that’s what we saw in that major article in The New York Times explaining how in that course of that meeting in the Situation Room, Bibi Netanyahu, who got into that Situation Room and should never have been in there, was able with his people, was able to convince a an American president to go to war. And there’s no explanation for it except that Trump didn’t listen to anybody in Congress. He didn’t listen to our Republican form of government in any way, did not honor our Republican form of government in any way, but honored his deal with Bibi Netanyahu, something that he ran against. And a lot of those working people up in Pennsylvania who voted for him, voted against all these stupid wars. And I’m telling you, they don’t like these wars. They don’t like them now. And they didn’t like this one from the beginning. And this is rare. Usually wars start with some popularity, some bugle calling and some excitement. Not this one. This war started with a bad humor. Why are we getting into this war with a crazy regime that’s not going to quit?"
