RUSH EXCERPT:MATTHEWS: "Well, he doesn’t understand American culture, and he’s usually pretty good at that. Most Catholics apparently are are trumpian. I think I sensed that when I go into a wealthier room, I get that sense that they are trumpian. But this pope is pretty popular. He’s American. What a deal that is for American Catholics after thousands of years, to finally have a pope recognized an American pope went to villanova, villanova, the basketball palace, of course, and it brings back a lot of cultural values. I think a lot of Americans are very proud of this guy. He he is not a big shot. He is kind of a cool vibe. He doesn’t try to imitate Trump, but he looks like he’s quite willing to outlast him. He he doesn’t fade from the fight. I noticed over the last several days he’s still at it. And I’m thinking, well, this guy may think he may be into something about Trump. I mean, he’s on strong ground. He’s the prince of peace. He wants to be for peace. But Trump should have known that. He should have said, okay, this guy is Roman Catholic. His job is basically to fight for peace. I’m going to leave him alone. I’m not going to get into the fight with him about the values of peace and war. But Trump wants this fight. He wants to. That picture of him as Jesus was no accident. It was formidable that he would make himself that way by just a second. Hey, Seth, if you watched his perorations before the war was all about appealing the war to Jesus Christ, it wasn’t like providence or the way presidents generally in a nonsectarian way, asked for god’s help. But they don’t say Jesus Christ. They don’t make it so particular. And this guy did that. And then right after he did that, Trump said, I am Jesus. I mean, it’s there is there is a credibility problem there about what he thinks about reality. What does Trump think? Does he think he is that? I mean, so None of this is going to get solved except by the voters, the voters, the independent voters. The Democrats are going to have to win the big in all those seats in November and win 30 seats or so. That’s the only thing that’s going to send any message to Trump at all."
