JAYAPAL: "It’s insulting what Republicans are doing right now on the economic messaging to say that people are just fine. You know, you just don’t know it. You’re fine. That’s very dismissive. I mean, Americans are going to the grocery store. They’re determining what they can pay for their can’t afford health premiums anymore. I mean, health insurance premiums have gone up to about 20,000 to 22,000 in my district. For a lot of my constituents, they can’t afford it. They’re getting off of health insurance. So to say that people don’t have pain is very dismissive. And it is something that we learned from the Biden Administration towards the end. Now the situation is even worse today than it was then. And to say that this is not a problem is saying to Americans that they don’t know what’s happening in their own homes. That is not a winning message for anybody. For Democrats, I think we have really latched on to appropriately, that we need to fix the affordability crisis that Americans are facing today. And that’s child care.”
