Beta 2, a well-planned residential sector in Greater Noida, spread across five blocks, F, G, H, I, and J, is facing a garbage crisis, not inside its colonies but at the edges of parks and along roadside corners.

Despite door-to-door garbage collection, multiple garbage hotspots have emerged across the sector.

On-ground observation by Timesnownews.com over a week revealed a clear picture: when residents fail to hand over their waste to garbage trucks, they dump it near park edges and along roadsides. At the same time, irregular pickup of garbage from these hotspots has led to a continuous pile-up of waste, resulting in persistent garbage hotspots.

The result is pollution and a serious hygiene concern. Residents say the stench becomes unbearable, with some even covering their faces while passing through these areas. Stray animals such as dogs and cows are frequently seen feeding on the waste.

Residents Confirm the Timing Gap

Many residents point to a timing mismatch as the trigger.

Mohini Mishra said that while door-to-door collection exists, not everyone manages to comply with the morning schedule.

“The garbage trucks come between 8 and 9 AM. Some people miss that timing,” she said. “As for why garbage still piles up, I don’t understand… maybe it’s just people’s mentality.”

A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, admitted to dumping waste at these spots after missing collection, “I’m a student, and sometimes I miss the timing. Garbage piles up at home, so I throw it where there’s already a heap.”

These accounts suggest that post-collection dumping is a key driver of the problem.
