United States PresidentDonald Trumpsaid that the attacks on Iran will resume if no agreement is reached by Wednesday. Asked by a reporter what he will do if there’s no deal with Iran when the ceasefire expires next week, Trump said, "I don’t know. Maybe I won’t extend it, but the blockade is going to remain. But maybe I won’t extend it, so you’ll have a blockade, and unfortunately, we’ll have to start dropping bombs again."

But he also told reporters accompanying him aboard Air Force One to Washington that, "I think it’s going to happen," referring to a deal.Check Live UpdatesHere

The next round of talks between the US and Iran is likely to be held on Monday, according to a report by CNN. An Iranian official told CNN that a fresh round of meetings between Iranian and American negotiators will take place Monday in Pakistan.

The representatives from both sides met in Pakistan over the last weekend. While they made progress on talks, the meeting endedwithout an agreement. "...The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement," US Vice President JD Vance said. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the United States' "excessive demands" prevented a framework from being reached.

The talks were held between the US delegation, led by Vance, comprising US President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and the Iranian delegation headed by the country's Parliament Speaker MB Ghalibaf and foreign minister Abbas Araghchi. The talks were scheduled after the US and Iran had announced a temporary ceasefire on Tuesday, ending the war which began on February 28.

Earlier on Friday, Iran said that it fully reopened the Strait of Hormuz to commercial vessels. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on X that the crucial waterway was now fully open to commercial vessels, as a 10-day truce between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon appeared to hold.

Araghchi said ships will use routes designated by the Islamic Republic in coordination with Iranian authorities, suggesting Iran planned to retain some level of control over the channel. It was not clear if vessels would have to pay tolls.

Following Iran's announcement, US President Donald Trump celebrated the opening of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz was 'fully open and ready for full passage,' he posted on social media.

Minutes later, Trump said the American blockade on Iranian ships and ports "will remain in full force" until Tehran reaches a deal with the US, including on its nuclear program.
