A 12-year-old girl has suffered damage to her brain following the horrific Canada school shooting as her mum says she 'needs a miracle'. Maya Gebala, one of the only victims to be named so far, suffered wounds to her head and neck after the deadly ramagekilled eight peopleon Tuesday, February 10.
The shooting atTumbler Ridge Secondary Schoolis canada's deadliestmass shooting and left 25 injured. Jesse Van Rootselaar, 18, is suspected of fatally shooting six people at the school as well as two of their relatives before also killing themselves.
Maya's mum posted a heartbreaking statement alongside pictures of her daughter that revealed she is unlikely to survive the night. Cia Edmonds said: “We were warned that the damage to her brain was too much for her to endure, and she wouldn’t make the night.

“I can feel her in my heart. I can feel her saying it’s going to be OK … she’s here … for how long we don’t know. Our baby needs a miracle.”
A Go Fund Me page has been set up for Maya.On the page her mother added: ”I'm writing this post sitting in Vancouver children's hospital while my daughter fights for her life. Today started as any other.
"Now, however, my 12 year old daughter is fighting for her life while they try to repair the damage from a gun shot wound to the head. And one to the neck..
"She was a lucky one, I suppose. Condolences to the other families during this tragedy. This doesn't even feel real.
"I never thought I would be asking for prayers.. but please please, pray for my baby.”
