In yet another display of establishment betrayal, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) tried to ram through a clean extension of Section 702 of FISA—the same warrantless surveillance authority weaponized against President Trump and countless Americans—only to face fierce pushback from principled conservatives who refuse to roll over.

Congress ultimately passed only a short-term extension of the spy powers after Johnson's attempt to give the Deep State everything it wanted without meaningful reform crashed and burned. Patriots in both parties stood up to demand actual accountability for the surveillance apparatus that has been turned into a political weapon against We the People.

This is the same FISA system that allowed corrupt FBI agents to spy on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page using a fake dossier. The same system that let federal agencies conduct millions of warrantless searches on American citizens. And what does Johnson want to do? Give them a blank check to continue the abuse.

"The American people deserve better than rubber-stamping the surveillance state," said one conservative lawmaker who fought against Johnson's establishment play. "We've seen how these powers get abused when Democrats are in charge—why would we hand them the keys again without serious reform?"

While President Trump has promised to drain the swamp and rein in the weaponized federal agencies, Johnson's move shows just how deep the establishment rot runs—even among Republicans who claim to support the MAGA agenda.

The bipartisan coalition fighting for surveillance reform isn't asking for much—just basic constitutional protections like requiring warrants before spying on Americans. You know, that little thing called the Fourth Amendment that these Deep State bureaucrats seem to have forgotten exists.

This short-term extension buys time for real reform, but only if conservatives keep the pressure on. The question is: will Johnson finally listen to the people who elected him, or will he keep carrying water for the surveillance state that tried to destroy President Trump?

Americans didn't vote for more government spying—they voted to drain the swamp. It's time Johnson got the message.
