Gujarat Titans (GT) have defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a margin of 5 wickets as they continue their winning run in the IPL 2026. This is now their third consecutive win of the tournament. They started off with two consecutive losses to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). This is now their third straight victory, after wins against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). With this win, they have now made a significant jump in the points table.
GT now have 6 points from 5 games in the IPL 2026. This propels them two places up the points table, as they enter they now stand fourth. They have thus entered the playoff spots in IPL 2026.
KKR on the other hand, still remains winless and currently lie on the 10th spot in the table with just one point on the board from 5 games. Their hopes of reaching the playoffs have now been slashed massively.
Cameron Greenwas the lone fighter for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a 55-ball 79 as they were bowled out for 180. The Knight Riders lost three wickets in the powerplay (37 runs). Later, they lost their last six wickets for 33 runs in 32 balls. Kagiso Rabada got three wickets (3/23) while Mohammed Siraj (2/23) and Ashok Sharma (2/45) got two wickets. Rashid Khan (1/44) and Prasidh Krishna (1/32).
GT got off to a solid start with a half-century partnership from Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill. They never let the scoreboard pressure get to them, as they chased the target down comfortable. Gill played a brilliant hand, scoring 86 runs from 50 deliveries.
Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) became the first team to bat first twice after winning the toss this season. The Titans were unchanged, while Tim Seifert replaced Finn Allen in the only change for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side.
