They want your money — but they don’t want you inside the store.
An influencer has trashed the opening of a newDunkin’ Donutsin South Los Angeles — which she refers to as “the hood” in a viral post — for its set up that doesn’t allow customers inside the building.
To order from the new doughnut spot at Manchester Boulevard and South Figueroa Street, customers must drive through or use a touch screen terminal and pick up their food and drinks from a service window. The store opened in early April.
“They want our money, but they don’t want us inside,” JustanLAgirlsaid in a video posted to TikTokon Thursday.
“They done put aDunkin’ Donutsin the hood,” the influencer says. “No indoor seating, of course.”
The influencer went on to promote a nearby coffee shop, South LA Cafe, that allows walk-in customers.
“Not only is the coffee better but they actually have indoor seating and it’s beautiful and it’s clean,” she adds.
But in the comments, TikTok users were quick to point out the new Dunkin’ Donuts is in a crime-plagued area.
“Do you blame them?” reads the most liked comment. While another adds, “i get what you mean but it’s literally fig and manchester. A more blunt assessor of the situation simply said: Because it’s dangerous.”
They won’t take my dollars 🤷🏻♀️ Especially when @SOUTH LA CAFE is only 5 minutes away. Of course I rather spend my money where I’m actually welcomed!! You do you, but definitely THINK about where you’re spending your money!! Businesses who don’t want us, don’t deserve a penny! The audacity to come into our neighborhood & not give us a full coffee shop experience.#southcentral#southla#southlosangeles#losangeles#justanlagirl
