The Port Washington Public Library will host its sixth annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25, offering live music, environmental resources and family-friendly activities aimed at promoting sustainability.

The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the library, with a performance by Bach to Rock scheduled from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Lapham Room on the lower level.

Beginning at 2 p.m., representatives from the Town of North Hempstead and several local environmental organizations will be on site to share information about current sustainability initiatives and ways residents can get involved. The informational session will continue through 4 p.m.

Families are encouraged to attend, with a children’s table featuring eco-friendly crafts available during the event. The library will also distribute environmentally conscious giveaways, including native plants, while supplies last.

Organizers say the event is designed to highlight practical steps community members can take to support a healthier, more sustainable environment.

The Earth Day celebration is funded by the Friends of the Port Washington Public Library.
