Apple’s dominance in China comes even after stiff competition from homegrown brands like Xiaomi and others. Thelatest data from Counterpoint Research shows that iPhone shipments to China have surged 20%during the first quarter of 2026. This comes even after the phone maker faced supply disruptions and escalating memory component prices due to the tariffs and conflict in the Middle East. Apple stock (NASDAQ: AAPL) surges on the development as iPhones command market penetration.
While iPhone shipments to China rose 20%, the same declined 35% for Xiaomi. Market analysts at Counterpoint Research wrote that Apple is better equipped to manage cost increases and expand market presence. Apart from China, India’s iPhone consumption rose to 9% in 2026, amid stiff competition from a sea of affordable Android phones. Apple stock benefited from the ordeal, as a strong consumer reception will lead to exceptional quarterly results.
“While competitors increase pricing, Apple delivers compelling value propositions, with Chinese buyers recognizing that its devices maintain functionality for a minimum three-year period,”said Ivan Lam, Senior Analyst at Counterpoint Research. The market trust in Apple remains intact as prices barely increased even after the supply disruption, giving the stock better prospects for the long term.
