**BRONX, New York** — A local man is dead following a violent shooting inside a residential building in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx on Friday.
Police were alerted to the incident after reports surfaced of gunfire erupted inside the residential building located at 205 Alexander Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of his next of kin.
Authorities have cordoned off the area around the building as the NYPD’s forensics unit and detectives continue to canvas the scene for evidence. As of midday Friday, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
