Swiggy has once again revised the fee it charges users, raising the cost of ordering food through its platform. The latest increase brings the platform fee to Rs 17.58 per order, inclusive of GST, up from the earlier Rs 14.99. The revised fee comes shortly after rival Zomato implemented its own hike. Zomato increased its platform fee by Rs 2.40 per order, taking the pre-GST amount to Rs 14.90. After taxes, customers now pay Rs 17.58 per order—matching Swiggy’s updated pricing.

These parallel moves suggest that both companies are aligning their pricing strategies in response to similar market pressures. For customers, however, it means slightly higher costs each time they place an order.

This isn’t the first time Swiggy has raised its platform fee. Back in August 2025, the company increased the charge from Rs 12 to Rs 14 in select regions, citing a spike in order volumes. The platform fee, which is a fixed charge applied to every order, has gradually become a standard component of food delivery pricing.

Such incremental hikes, while seemingly small, can add up over time, especially for frequent users. The steady rise also highlights how platforms are fine-tuning their revenue streams without drastically altering the base price of food items.
