A driver who killed a couple and their two babies after plowing her Mercedes into aSan Francisco bus stopwas sentenced to probation for the horrific crash — sparking outrage among the victims’ family.

Mary Fong Lau, 80, was charged after she slammed into Diego Cardoso de Oliveira, his wife Matilde Ramos and their two infant children in March 2024 — killing the entire family and injuring others.

On Friday, a judge sentenced Lau to two years’ probation with athree-year suspended licenseafter she entered a no-contest plea.

Lau had been charged with four counts ofvehicular manslaughter, which is punishable by up to 15 years to life in prison on each count, before entering her plea.

In making the ruling, Judge Bruce Chan cited Lau’s advanced age and lack of criminal record, as well as her expressions of remorse,KRON 4 reported.

Lau addressed the court briefly on Friday, stating: “I want to say to all the family, sorry. Sorry.”

Cardoso de Oliveira, an executive at Apple, and his family were waiting for a bus in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood before a trip to zoo when Lau ran them over at a reportedly high rate of speed

The couple and their children — 1-year-old Joaquim and 2-month-old Cauê — were all killed.

Attorneys for the victims’ families said Lau has been driving at more than 70mph in the residential neighborhood at the time of the wreck, KRON 4 reported.
