“We’re Making People Hurt” – Democrats ADMIT Their DHS Shutdown is Hurting American People as Travelers Miss Flights

The Democrats have repeatedly voted to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

On Friday, Democrats once again blocked funding for the DHS and TSA.

Hundreds of TSA agents have quit their jobs after missing a paycheck.

10% of TSA workers have called in sick after missing a paycheck.

American travelers are spending hours in security check lines and missing flights because the Democrats are refusing to fund the DHS.

And now the Democrats are admitting their refusal to fund the Department of Homeland Security is “making people hurt.”

House Democrats are launching a Hail Mary push to effectively end the Department of Homeland Security’snow month-long shutdownby funding all of its sub-agencies except ICE and Customs and Border Protection.

Why it matters:Democrats are feeling the heat asfederal workers miss paychecksand DHSwarns of airport closures. They hope their planned discharge petition will, at the very least, deflect blame onto Republicans.

The Department of Homeland Security responded.

“Democrats have ADMITTED that their DHS shutdown is hurting the American people as security lines keep growing, hundreds of travelers miss their flights, and TSA officers and other DHS employees are forced to turn to food banks because they have not been paid,” DHS said.
