AJ McKee delivered a dominant performance atPFL Madrid, handily defeating Ádám Borics in the evening’s co-main event.
The speed of McKee appeared to be the difference maker early in the fight, as the former featherweight titleholder was continuously one step ahead of his opponent throughout the opening round. Still, Borics found his moments, delivering some effective counterstrikes and keeping things neck-and-neck statistically.
However, it was McKee who delivered the more impactful strikes through the first 10 minutes.
With 60 seconds to go in the second stanza, McKee shot in for his first takedown attempt of the fight. Utilizing the fence, Borics managed to stay upright, but the control time likely put McKee up 2-0 going into the third and final round.
McKee would finally secure his first and only takedown of the fight in the third, though he was unable to muster much offense on the mat before Borics worked his way back up. With the clock winding down, Borics offered a late flurry, but it wasn’t enough to mitigate the dominance that McKee delivered in the previous 14 minutes.
Official Result: AJ McKee def.Ádám Boricsvia unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29).
