Franco Tenaglia walked away with a big win after Yassin Najid suffered a nasty shoulder injury during the second round of theirPFL Madridclash.
It was all Najid in the opening round, who put his ground game on display early and never let up. Tenaglia repeatedly attempted to fish for aheel hook, but Najid was hip to it and nearly cinched in a rear-naked choke against the fence with time winding down.
With Najid unable to finish the fight, we headed to the second stanza, where things took a drastic turn.
After delivering a dominant first, Najid offered little in the way of offense, allowing Tenaglia to dominate the round and fight his way back into the bout. But just as we were about to head toward a sudden-death round in the third, Najid’s corner opted to throw in the towel after revealing that their fighter had suffered adislocated shouldersomewhere during the second.
Official Result: Franco Tenaglia def. Yassin Najid via TKO (shoulder injury) at 5:00 of Round 2.
