### Mineola High School Drama Club Delivers Pop-Fueled Spectacular in “Once Upon a One More Time”

**MINEOLA, N.Y.** – The Mineola High School Drama Club turned the local stage into a high-energy pop concert last weekend, as students delivered a vibrant and refreshing production of the musical “Once Upon a One More Time.” The show, which ran from March 13-14, drew enthusiastic crowds eager to see a unique fusion of classic fairy tale tropes and the iconic discography of Britney Spears.

The production offered a spirited subversion of traditional storybook narratives. In this modern reimagining, a rogue fairy godmother intervenes in the lives of classic princesses, challenging them to break away from their conventional roles. The result is a journey of self-discovery that encourages the characters—and the audience—to reconsider the true meaning of a "happily ever after."

The musical featured 23 of Britney Spears’ chart-topping hits, woven seamlessly into the narrative. The stage was alive with dynamic choreography, eye-catching costumes, and the undeniable talent of a cast that leaned fully into the high-octane atmosphere of the performance.

The success of the production was the result of months of rigorous preparation. Beyond the performers in the spotlight, the show was a testament to the comprehensive skills of the Mineola student body, with dedicated crews managing complex lighting, sound design, stagecraft, and costume logistics. The collaboration underscored the commitment of the school’s theater program to fostering both artistic creativity and professional-grade production values.

This year’s spring musical held a poignant significance, marking the final production under the guidance of longtime director Matt DeLuca. With DeLuca set to retire at the end of the current school year, the musical served as a triumphant capstone to his tenure.

The district has issued a formal commendation to the students and faculty involved, praising the cast, crew, pit musicians, and directors for their hard work. For the Mineola community, the performances served as a vibrant reminder of the power of the performing arts to bring people together, leaving audiences with an unforgettable theatrical experience.
