### Maayan Adam Exposes "Serious Incident" at Children’s Kindergarten Amidst War-Time Fee Dispute
**TEL AVIV** – The public battle over private kindergarten tuition fees during the ongoing war has taken a dark and personal turn. Media personality Maayan Adam, who has been leading a vocal campaign against private daycares demanding full tuition despite operational disruptions, has revealed that her advocacy has led to a "serious incident" involving her own children's kindergarten.
During her program "Hayim and Maayan" on Keshet 12, Adam addressed the intense backlash she has faced from the Association of Private Daycares, which recently accused her of "incitement" and publicly claimed she failed to pay her March tuition.
Adam did not shy away from the confrontation, disclosing that the friction between her activism and the daycare industry had culminated in a legal dispute.
"A serious incident occurred at my kindergarten. It is currently in legal proceedings, and I will not speak about it at this stage, but it is grave," Adam stated on air. "It will play out, and I will reveal the details later. It is an event that is going to cost us many times more than what we would have paid in tuition. And if you ask me if I would do it again? Yes, a million times over."
Adam emphasized that the pressure tactics employed against her have not deterred her, but she acknowledged that most parents are trapped in a precarious position. She highlighted the fear many families feel—the terror of having their children expelled, the burden of expensive legal battles, and the social shaming that often accompanies such disputes.
"I feel a tremendous privilege... that I have the patience and the financial backing to wage this kind of war," Adam admitted. "I think most parents, even if they wanted to, are afraid. They are afraid that their child will be kicked out of the kindergarten, they are afraid of costly legal action... these are effectively hush-money payments."
The media figure also leveled sharp criticism at government officials, specifically taking aim at Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Responding to the Minister's recent comparison of kindergartens to "falafel stands," Adam remarked, "The things Smotrich said are so serious in their essence. A kindergarten is the key to the economy; without it, the economy cannot exist."
The escalating standoff highlights the deep structural frustrations of Israeli parents during wartime, as families struggle to balance the need for childcare with the economic reality of paying for services that are often disrupted or unavailable. Adam’s decision to air her personal conflict suggests that the movement against daycare pricing is far from over, despite the mounting costs for those leading the charge.
