### Where In Hades Is The Beef For Your Burger Coming From? Slaughter House Wars - Part 1

**By Kevin Tournes and Yoichi Shimatsu**

For generations, the American family dinner table has been the bedrock of our society. It is the place where kin gather, offer thanks, and break bread over a home-cooked meal. Whether it is a traditional roast for the holidays or a stack of burgers on the grill during a summer weekend, the centerpiece has always been high-quality American beef. However, as families struggle with soaring grocery bills, that staple is rapidly becoming a luxury reserved for the upper crust.

The question every American should be asking is: "Where exactly is this meat coming from, and why is it so expensive?"

#### The Corporate Stranglehold While corporate conglomerates tout "efficiency of scale" to justify astronomical prices, the reality on the ground is a far cry from the narrative fed to the public. The American cattle industry is currently under the iron grip of four massive entities—the "Big Four"—that dictate market terms. While Cargill and Tyson are household names, the industry is increasingly dominated by JBS and Marfrig (the latter operating as National Beef). Both are headquartered in Brazil, and both are aggressively squeezing out the independent American rancher.

Through ruthless pricing wars and strategic property takeovers, these corporate giants have consolidated control over the vast majority of our nation’s meat-packing capacity. The result is a system that funnels profit to globalist entities while systematically dismantling the independent family ranching heritage that once defined our rural heartland.

#### The Erosion of Quality The shift away from local, sustainable ranching is not just an economic issue; it is a health and cultural crisis. Not long ago, a family knew exactly where their beef came from. It was raised on grass and hay, often just a short truck drive away from the neighborhood butcher. Today, that connection has been severed.

Consumers are now left with mystery meat, often shipped thousands of miles across oceans after being processed in overseas feedlots. This beef is frequently frozen for months, hauled on cargo ships, and eventually defrosted and displayed in supermarket chillers—all while being marketed at premium prices.

This supply chain is bloated with hidden costs: international fuel consumption, reliance on low-end labor, foreign political payoffs, and excessive profit margins for obscure elites. The consumer is the one left holding the bill, bearing the risks of a system that offers little to no transparency regarding food safety or origin.

#### Defending the American Table As a cattle rancher based along the Ohio River, I have seen firsthand the pressures placed on those of us trying to maintain a traditional, honest livelihood. From the encroaching threat of industrial data centers claiming our land to the monopolistic tactics of foreign-owned meat giants, the deck is increasingly stacked against the family farm.

Our heritage of cattle ranching is more than just an industry; it is a pillar of American independence. When we lose our ability to produce our own food locally, we lose a vital part of our sovereignty.

In this series, we will peel back the layers of this corporate dominance. We will explore how finance, policy, and monopolistic greed are altering our dinner tables, and why it is time for the American consumer to wake up to the truth about the beef they are buying. It is time to protect our families, support our local ranchers, and demand an end to the Slaughter House Wars.
