The following is fromRasmussen Reports.
Democrats continue to hold an advantage over Republicans on the issue of health care, although nearly half of voters say more free market competition would help reduce costs, according to anew Rasmussen Reports survey.
Forty-seven percent (47%) of likely US voters say they trust Democrats more to handle health care, while 41% say they trust Republicans more. Twelve percent (12%) say they are not sure. The Democratic advantage has increased slightly since last summer.
When asked about ways to reduce health care costs, 48% say more free market competition would do more to lower prices. Thirty-two percent (32%) say more government regulation would be more effective, while 20% say they are not sure.
The findings highlight ongoing debate over how to address health care affordability and policy in the United States.
The survey of 1,130 likely US voters was conducted February 15–17, 2026. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
