Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss reports that President Trump privately criticized Stephen Miller’s aggressive deportation policies after Melania Trump complained that people she knew were being deported, amid Republican losses in the midterm elections and declining Hispanic support. Jimmy highlights the administration’s immigration enforcement controversies, including the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and criticizes Miller’s public labeling of the victims as domestic terrorists. He mocks the apparent contradiction between reports that Trump thought Miller had gone too far and Trump’s announcement that Miller would become White House chief of staff, then plays a 2003 recording in which Miller jokingly advocates torture as an alternative to killing Saddam Hussein and his associates. Jimmy also notes Susie Wiles’s connections to Benjamin Netanyahu’s political campaign and argues that Miller’s promotion signals no meaningful change in the administration’s immigration or foreign policy direction.
