Iranon Wednesday intensified its criticism of Donald Trump by circulating a provocative cartoon portraying the US president standing amid blood-stained school bags while holding a Nobel Peace Prize medal. The illustration was shared by the X account linked to the lateIraniansupreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed on March 1, along with a brief caption translated from Persian as “Nobel Cannibal.”

The cartoon appears to reference the deadly strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab, in Iran’s Hormozgan Province, on February 28, the first day of the ongoing war. The attack killed at least 168 people, most of them schoolgirls aged between seven and twelve, making it the deadliest civilian incident of the conflict so far.

The graphic depicts Trump as a grotesque, sharp-toothed figure smiling while holding a Nobel Peace Prize medal. Behind him lie scattered school backpacks and the rubble of the destroyed school building. The image is largely black and white, with splashes of bright red representing blood on the bags and debris.

Text at the bottom of the illustration accuses Trump of responsibility for the strike and highlights the civilian toll of the operation. It claims that 168 schoolgirls from Minab were killed by a missile attack, describing the incident as an unprecedented crime.

A day earlier, Trump denied that the United States was responsible for the attack and suggested that the missile involved could have been fired by another country, including Iran itself. Speaking at his resort in Florida, he said the weapon used may have been a Tomahawk cruise missile, adding that such missiles are widely used by multiple countries.

“Tomahawk is one of the most powerful weapons around, and it’s sold to other countries,” Trump said, adding that investigators were still examining the incident.

The February 28 attack on the Minab school reportedly killed around 175 people, mostly children, making it the single deadliest event since the war between the United States, Israel and Iran erupted.
