Seven employees at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim,California, were rushed to hospital on Tuesday afternoon after a hazmat situation unfolded at thepopular theme park. Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded to the incident at 12:30pm after receiving a report of an 'unknown odour' in the Tomorrowland section of theDisneylandResort. Authorities said that employees had been experiencing dizziness and shortness of breath.
As a precaution, nearby rides and facilities, including Space Mountain, theStar WarsLaunch Bay, and surrounding bathrooms, were reportedly closed temporarily while emergency teams investigated. Visitors were evacuated from the immediate vicinity and were allowed to return once the scene was secured.

Officials said that the incident was confined to a backstage area near the Star Tours attraction and did not affect visitors. Several other employees were treated by paramedics at the park.
The smell came from “building contractor materials,” according to officials.
As reported byFOX 11 Los Angeles, an official fromDisneylandResort said in a statement issued on Tuesday:"This afternoon, building materials being used by a contractor produced a reaction backstage at Disneyland park, and the area was examined by appropriate response teams.
"Several cast members were treated on-site by paramedics and released; and at this time, five cast members experiencing dizziness and shortness of breath were transported to local hospitals. Out of an abundance of caution, adjacent onstage areas were cleared of guests and are expected to reopen soon."
Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter initially said four employees were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but Disneyland officials later said that seven had been taken to hospital for evaluation,Los Angeles Timesreports.
