Despite this clarification, the teaser has reignited controversy online, extending the public dispute between the filmmaker and Trisha.

Parthiban also played a key role in the Mani Ratnam-directed two-part period drama. Parthiban initially expressed regret, claiming the comment was an impromptu rhyme prompted by the anchor and that he had requested the event organisers not to air that segment. A privately recorded clip was later leaked, prompting criticism.
He also argued that Trisha had called him out despite facing numerous online attacks from others, including political figures. In the longer video, Parthiban trolled Trisha for her Instagram post, calling her a “third-party woman” and her tweet “third-rate.” Earlier, he had described Vijay as the “first person” and Sangeetha as the “second person” in the episode.
