Republicans did so poorly in the midterm elections that Alabama, a historically red state that Trump won by 30 points in 2024, elected its first transgender state legislator in history.   The historically red Alabama House District 25, a district Trump won three times, flipped for Democrat Allison Montgomery, a transgender man who now identifies as a woman.
