November 4, 2026 BROOKLYN, New York - Mourners held a vigil Wednesday evening for Katie Suarez, 28, on the Shore Parkway Greenway near Bay 17th Street in Bath Beach, according to ABC7 NY and CBS New York. Suarez was stabbed while jogging on the path around 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 and died Monday night, according to the outlets. Rev. Erick Salgado organized the vigil. Organizers asked the NYPD to raise the reward from $10,000 to $50,000 and to assign more detectives, according to the reports. Councilmember Susan Zhuang asked the mayor and police commissioner for light towers, more patrols and more cameras on the path, according to CBS New York.
