Donald Trump has suffered a devastating political setback as Democrats storm to victory in the midterm elections, delivering one of the worst results for a sitting president in modern history.
With seven Republican Senate seats falling and control of the House slipping away, the results have dealt a major blow to Trump’s presidency - and raised serious questions about his grip on the Republican Party.
Among the biggest shocks was Michigan, where Abdul El-Sayed made history as the first Muslim elected to the US Senate. His victory speech appeared to take a pointed swipe at Trump, who had repeatedly branded him a terrorist.
Meanwhile, deep-red Texas delivered a stunning win for Democrat James Talarico, who declared the result a biblical victory, as Republicans also lost their long-standing grip on South Carolina.
And despite Trump’s attempt to claim Republicans would have won by a landslide had he been on the ballot, the results suggest otherwise. Could the midterms mark the beginning of a much bigger political reckoning for Trump and the GOP?
Piers Morgan is joined by former Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, former White House correspondent, Brian Glenn, founder & CEO, The Young Turks Cenk Uygur, political adviser & radio host, Jenna Ellis, and host of The News Agents, Emily Maitlis.
