November 1, 2026 DETROIT, Michigan - Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, held a campaign event in Detroit on Sunday, two days before the Nov. 3 Election Day, according to independent outlet Esoteric. Former U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York spoke, along with Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II and Eli Savit, the Democratic candidate for attorney general, according to Esoteric. Bowman criticized U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens for endorsing Republican nominee Mike Rogers, calling it an effort by the party establishment to hold on to power, according to posts by reporters on X. Khaliah Ali, daughter of boxer Muhammad Ali, and her son Jacob Ali-Wertheimer endorsed El-Sayed and said he carries on Ali's legacy, according to Al Jazeera and Esoteric. El-Sayed then delivered his campaign speech. He faces Rogers in the open-seat race on Tuesday.
