YouTube is being flooded with AI-generated content, AI-written scripts, and creators who no longer seem to speak for themselves. Is artificial intelligence destroying the authenticity and trust that made YouTube great? Remember when YouTube was about real people sharing real opinions and experiences? Today, it's becoming harder to tell whether you're hearing someone's genuine thoughts or a script generated by ChatGPT. I'm Ben Dykes, a 20-year U.S. Navy submarine veteran, and I think we're losing something important. This isn't about being against artificial intelligence. I use AI myself. But there's a difference between using technology as a tool and letting it replace your own judgment, experiences, and opinions. In this video, I'm talking about AI slop, the growing use of AI-written YouTube scripts, why so many creators are beginning to sound alike, and what happens when viewers stop trusting the people they're watching. YouTube's original promise was simple: Broadcast Yourself. Maybe it's time we remembered what that actually meant. **What do you think?** Can you tell when a YouTuber is reading an AI-generated script? Does it bother you, or does it only matter whether the content is good?
