Patrick Bet-David and Pete Buttigieg go head-to-head on one of the biggest economic debates in America: should the wealth tax be national, and should countries agree on global tax rules so the rich can't escape them?
Buttigieg argues a wealth tax makes more sense nationally than state by state, since billionaires can simply move to another state, and says international agreements are needed to stop companies from parking profits overseas to avoid U.S. taxes. He points to tax cuts under Bush and Trump as a major driver of today's deficits. PBD pushes back hard: if every country agrees on the same tax rules, there's no competition and nowhere left to go. "Now you sound like a globalist," he tells Buttigieg. "Why don't you make the state so competitive so they don't want to leave?"
