Five Disneyland employees have been rushed to the hospital over a hazmat situation at theCaliforniatheme park, according to the Anaheim Fire Department.
Crews arrived at after a group of employees reported an odor and minor symptoms at around 12:30pm local time, department spokesperson Matt Sutter told the Daily Mail.
The employees were in the backstage area of the Star Tours ride and said they were experiencing minor pain, shortness of breath and dizziness.
Building materials being used by a contractor backstage 'produced a reaction', including shortness of breath and dizziness, in employees, a Disney spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
Sutter said no guests were affected. All five employees were taken to a local hospital and others were treated by paramedics at the park, the spokesperson said.
Because of the emergency, nearby guests were cleared from nearby onstage areas.
Star Tours is a 3D motion simulator attraction at Disneyland that allows guests to go on various, ultra-realisticStar Warsadventures. It opened in May 2013.
The attraction is located in the Tomorrowland section of the park. Other rides in that area include Space Mountain, Astro Orbitor and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.
