A Los Angeles man says a scorpion stung him while he was lying in bedat a Las Vegas hotel, leaving him injured and considering legal action.

Sulaiman Lutaletold 8 News Nowhe was visiting Sin City on a business trip in May 2025 when he booked a room at the Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino whilesearching for an affordable stay.

But the trip took a painful turn when he said he suddenly felt a sharp sting while getting ready to sleep.

“From my understanding, he was in his bed, and he was getting ready to go to sleep [and] felt a significant sting,” attorney Brian Virag of My Bed Bud Lawyer, who represents Lutale, told 8 News Now.

The sting prompted Lutale to ask his roommate to begin recording — capturing video of what Virag said was the culprit: a scorpion on the hotel room floor.

In the video, which Virag shared with the California Post, the scorpion could be seen on the floor of the hotel room, before the roommate stomped on it repeatedly before it appeared to have died.

Virag said his client was stung on the arm by a bark scorpion, which the National Park Service describes as the most venomous scorpion species in North America. A sting can be life-threatening in severe cases.

The incident reportedly happened May 29, 2025, toward the end of Lutale’s four-day stay at the hotel.
